Multiple independent trend reports this summer put bezel-set pieces at the top of their lists, praised for feeling secure and low-key rather than flashy. It’s the kind of setting you stop noticing you’re wearing, which is exactly the appeal for daily jewelry.
From our side of the bench in Bangkok, this is exactly what we see. The 2 to 3 carat request is now normal, not a stretch.

Statement gemstones are displacing the all-diamond look
Rich green, ocean blue and opalescent stones are the season’s color story, worn instead of an all-neutral or all-diamond palette. For lab-grown buyers, this is good news: color is where lab-grown emerald, sapphire and ruby offer the most value.

Desert diamonds are an editorial direction, not a purchase signal
Lab-grown diamonds can be grown in warm champagne and cognac tones too. The trend does not require choosing between color and value; it means asking for the tone when you order.
Reality check: colored lab-grown diamonds. Designers keep forecasting yellow, pink and blue. Draco’s market report notes that about 98 percent of lab-grown sales are still D color, colorless white. Forecast is not purchase. Colored gemstones such as emerald, ruby and sapphire are a different story and a different category, and we cover those in our education guides.

The classic summer trio: shell necklaces, sleeker sculptural chokers, and bangles worn in a stack. Seasonal, photogenic, and worth having, but not where we’re seeing custom order requests land.

Noughties charm necklaces are back, and a classical-revival wave of antique-cut diamonds and Roman intaglio rings is riding the summer shows. Both are strong style statements. Neither has the repeat-order pattern we’d rank as sales-backed yet.

Sand, champagne and yellow tones are compelling editorial references, but there is still no purchase data behind the look.

Marquise and bezel are the ones to watch
Marquise is the fastest-growing fancy shape, though it sits around 8 percent of the market. One practical note: the points are exposed, so a protective setting matters. Bezels solve that problem and are getting heavy editorial love, but treat them as a rising trend, not a proven one yet.
Gold’s summer pullback: what it means for your budget
Gold spent July trading between roughly $4,010 and $4,112 an ounce, well off the record $5,595 it briefly touched in January. The World Gold Council’s mid-year outlook put fair value for the second half of 2026 at around $4,100.
Metals Focus expects global gold jewelry demand in 2026 to land more than a third below 2023 by weight, even as retail revenue holds up because each piece costs more.
Put the budget in the stone
A lab-grown center stone gives you size without the price shock, while a thick heavy band is where the gold bill grows. Chunky is the trend, so ask for a hollow or lighter build if you want the look without the weight.
