Zoe Kravitz wore gold bands above her elbow to a London jewelry event. Vittoria Ceretti wore Aflalo’s Bicep Bangle in Saint-Tropez. Then Balenciaga’s couture show sent models out in bold crystal upper-arm cuffs. Three independent sightings inside a few weeks is the pattern that turns a micro-trend into a real one.

The version worn in Saint-Tropez featured one dangling lab-grown diamond off a sculptural bangle. That is a useful brief: a bold silhouette that still centers a certified stone, built to order.

Crystal is a shape reference, not a shopping list
Balenciaga’s couture look used crystal, not diamond, and was styled as the sole accessory. If the silhouette speaks to you, we’d build it with a real stone.
Reality check: colored lab-grown diamonds. Designers keep forecasting yellow, pink and blue. Draco’s market report notes that about 98 percent of lab-grown sales are still D color, colorless white. Forecast is not purchase. Colored gemstones such as emerald, ruby and sapphire are a different story and a different category, and we cover those in our education guides.

Marquise is the fastest-growing fancy shape, though it sits around 8 percent of the market. One practical note: the points are exposed, so a protective setting matters. Bezels solve that problem and are getting heavy editorial love, but treat them as a rising trend, not a proven one yet.
Gold’s sharpest month: what it means for your budget
Gold moved fast in August, climbing from around $4,100 an ounce in the first week to roughly $4,600 by the 26th, one of the sharpest single-month runs of the year.
Metals Focus expects global gold jewelry demand in 2026 to land more than a third below 2023 by weight, even as retail revenue holds up because each piece costs more.
Put the budget in the stone
A lab-grown center stone gives you size without the price shock, while a thick heavy band is where the gold bill grows. Chunky is the trend, so ask for a hollow or lighter build if you want the look without the weight.
